The construction industry plays a key role in driving socio-economic development and national development. However, Kazakhstan, like many other nations, suffers labor productivity issues, project delays, and inefficiencies in the supply chain. Therefore, AI integration emerges as transformational with the potential to revolutionize the construction sector. This review article sheds light into the untapped potential of artificial intelligence (AI) in Kazakhstan's construction sector, emphasizing the importance of AI-driven innovations. The review emphasizes AI's major influence on several aspects of the construction industry, such as efficiency, labor productivity, and quality control. It uses international trends and best practices to argue for the potential of AI in the construction sector in Kazakhstan. Employing the thematic literature review as a main methodological tool it is revealed that potential of integration of AI in construction can enhance innovation and efficiency in Kazakhstan’s construction industry. The review demonstrates that technologies of predictive analysis, automatization of design and management of supply chain has potential for construction industry in Kazakhstan; however, their integration requires overcoming barriers in labor shortage and AI workforce development systems. Proposed recommendations can serve as impetus to embrace the transformative potential of AI in the context of Kazakhstan’s AI development policy trajectory.
