Abstract

The annual population growth in major cities of Kazakhstan is accompanied by increased demand for housing. This is accompanied by the design and construction of new microdistricts. At the same time, it becomes necessary to address issues related to providing the population with social infrastructure. Providing the growing population with the necessary living conditions in the city requires expansion of the city's territory, which in turn highlights the importance of structural units in the city's planning structure. The aim of this study is to examine the development of social infrastructure facilities in Astana. The examination of the city's administrative-territorial districts involves examining the principles of existing service institutions based on field surveys, historical features, and statistical data. It is also important to consider the prospects for constructing new institutions based on these identified characteristics. The study reveals the development of social infrastructure facilities within the planning structure of Astana. These findings are important to consider when planning administrative-territorial districts when locating service institutions. Administrative-territorial districts of the city should be considered as an opportunity to improve living conditions.
